Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil is a small, family business that strives for high quality and taste. They use all natural ingredients and their rapeseed oil is award winning.
Adam Palmer first took over the farm at Breckenholme in 2000. Following in his grandfather’s footsteps he continued to farm both arable crops and sheep, but was excited to grow the business and diversify into something new.
The farm sold its first bottle of rapeseed oil in 2008. The project has since expanded and they now smoke oil in a specialist smoke house nearby, as well as flavouring oils and making sauces and mayonnaises. But the business still has family and sustainability at heart.
’As we continue to farm here on the Yorkshire Wolds and indeed continue to cold press our oil, we look to building a more sustainable future. As a small business it is often easier for us to make the small changes necessary to make more conscious decisions.’ -Yorkshire Rapeseed Oil
Mel continues the sustainability efforts at The Condiment Cupboard, where she bottles the rapeseed oil herself, so that she can reduce packaging waste and reuse the glass bottles when customers bring back their empties.
