Sustainability

Mel’s values are at the heart of The Condiment Cupboard. As a result, sustainability is built into the business.

Return Your Bottles

We bottle the flavoured olive oils, rapeseed oils and vinegars ourselves, which means that if you return your empty bottles, we can reuse them. You also get 50p off your next purchase with every bottle you return! Please bring your empty bottles to our stall next time you see us (see our Markets and Events page to find us). We can reuse the 100ml, 200ml, 250ml, 330ml and 500ml glass oil and vinegar bottles. Reusing things is the best way to reduce waste!

Reused Packaging

When you order from us for delivery, your order will be packaged in reused boxes and packing.

Avoiding Plastic

We try to avoid plastic where we can. Most of our products are packaged in cardboard or glass, rather than plastic. And we use a biodegradable clear wrap for hampers instead of plastic wrap. Our method of offering tasters is also single-use plastic free, and we use sustainably sourced wooden cocktail sticks. Any plastic packaging we stock, such as squeez-y bottles, are 100% recyclable.

Electric Vehicle

Mel travels to markets and events in her electric van. This is also the transport for local deliveries. (Non-local deliveries are posted with Royal Mail.)

B Corporations

We’re pleased to work with several B Corporations. For example, we stock Tracklements and The Garlic Farm products. B Corporations are companies who have made significant and trackable environmental commitments. You can read more about them in our Food Blog post: ‘Did you know that Tracklements and The Garlic Farm are B Corporations?’
